Hello,
?k, i plan on making a short about a group of nomads, possibly on some kind of mission/adventure, and basically, i need to do deert scenes without spending much money.

oh, also it has to be filmed in the middle of Englnd

any sugestions?

well you are in trouble then. Why not go on a trip to the beach and film it there?

hmm, i dont realy want to use a beach as all the beaches within a two hours drive are too small, the camera would have to be constantly facing along the beach and slightly down to hide the sea. and ive got a bad feeling that seaguls will keep flying past.

how about if i film in the countryside with a light yellow-brown filter? but would this be able to pass for a beach.

hmm, i could always turn my living room into a studio [img]biggrin.gif[/img] paint the walls like a desert, dump 500Kg of sand over the carpet...

Hey there.

Why the **** would you write a script set in a desert if your living in the middle of England? Go away and write a script based on the locations you CAN get. Filmmaking is hard enough. Why make things so impossable right from the start?

Why make a realy sh*ty looking desert movie when you could make a GREAT looking movie set in the countryside?

There are some beaches on the Norfolk coastline that have quite extensive dunes, and huge expanse of sand at low tide.

Even better is Camber sands in east sussex, where they filmed 'Carry On legionnaire'.

If you catch them on a sunny day try using a yellow filter for a really striking effect. I went on a jeep-safari through the sahara wearing yellow lens sunglasses and everything looked fukkin mental.
